Blue River Career Programs (BRCP), was formed in 1972 in response to the needs of the community to prepare students for current and emerging careers. The Adult Education Department serves Johnson, Marion, and Shelby counties. Services include adult education (AE) and literacy activities, High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation, English Language Learner (ELL) instruction, and several certificated adult training programs. In addition, BRCP is an approved HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) testing site. Throughout its 40+ year history, the AE Department has endeavored to serve as a gateway and connector to resources in employment, education, and social services and provide the tools to support learners in creating positive changes in their lives. Collaborative education and training opportunities with community stakeholders continue to be the basis of our educational philosophy and efforts.

Classes taught by our expert instructors are TUITION-FREE for adult learners! We also provide test-funding assistance to students who participate in our HSE Prep course.

We are a public testing site, so walk-in testers are welcome for those who prefer to self-pay.
